Project Overview

Hubei Baoli Technology is currently completing the final assembly and inspection of an integrated automation project for a can manufacturing customer in Vietnam.

The production line is now in the final checking stage before trial operation. Our engineering team is carefully inspecting every system component to ensure stable performance, reliable operation, and smooth commissioning before shipment.

Although our equipment represents only part of the complete can production line, it plays a critical role in connecting production processes and automating end-of-line packaging operations.

Customer Requirements

The customer specializes in tinplate can manufacturing and required a highly integrated solution that could:

  • Reduce manual handling throughout production
  • Improve material flow between machines
  • Automate palletizing and packaging operations
  • Maintain stable production efficiency
  • Improve pallet hygiene through automatic cleaning

To achieve these goals, Baoli provided a customized automation solution covering robotic handling, conveying, palletizing, strapping, wrapping, and pallet washing.

Front-End Automation: Robotic Sheet Handling

At the beginning of the process, steel sheets exiting the slitting machine are automatically picked up and transferred by an industrial robotic arm.

The robot accurately delivers the sheets to the welding machine, reducing labor requirements while ensuring stable and continuous feeding.

This automated handling process improves production efficiency and minimizes the risk of sheet damage during transportation.

Oven and Can Conveyor System Integration

After welding, cans move through the curing oven before entering the conveying section.

Baoli supplied the complete can conveyor system responsible for connecting the major production machines throughout the line.

The conveyor network ensures smooth product transfer between production stages while maintaining continuous workflow and reducing production bottlenecks.

As an essential part of modern can factory automation, the conveying system helps maximize equipment utilization and production efficiency.

Fully Automated End-of-Line Packaging System

One of the highlights of this project is the fully automatic palletizing and packaging section.

The system includes:

Finished cans are automatically conveyed to the palletizing station where the low-level palletizer forms stable pallet loads.

Robots automatically place slip sheets and top frames during the stacking process to improve load stability and transportation safety.

Empty pallets are automatically supplied by the pallet dispensing system, eliminating manual pallet handling and further improving operational efficiency.

After palletizing, products are automatically transferred to the strapping machine and stretch wrapper, preparing the finished loads for storage and shipment.

Optional Automatic Pallet Washing System

To further improve plant hygiene and pallet management, the customer selected an automatic plastic pallet washing machine.

Used pallets can be automatically conveyed to the washing system whenever cleaning is required.

After washing, pallets can be returned to the production process for reuse.

This feature helps customers maintain cleaner production environments while reducing pallet replacement costs.

This Vietnam project demonstrates how integrated automation can improve efficiency across multiple production stages.

From robotic sheet handling and oven integration to conveyor systems, palletizing, strapping, wrapping, and pallet washing, every section is designed to operate as a coordinated system.
